Q&A: Stackable Chairs
Q: Where can I buy 50 stackable chairs at a reasonable price for a school?
1) I would send you to a second-hand office depot because you’d get a better quality chair at a decent price. They clear out whole offices so you can get many of the same type – not sure about 50 though. They also sell new chairs.
Here’s one from my Smart Shopping Montreal book, Tras, 70G Boul. Brunswick, DDO. Tel: 514-685-0007. I checked with them and they said the inexpensive ones have been discontinued (which were $45). The ones they still sell are $75. They get this request often, so they usually suggest Costco to buy (for $16.99) the black folding chairs with the gray seats which they think are a decent quality. (There are other second-hand office stores like Tras around the city).
2) Another idea, is the hotel clearance company which has 4 warehouses, Phone: 514-946-7002. Prices are rock bottom here so its worth having a look (couches would be only $50-$135, so chairs would be a lot less). They empty hotels when properties get renovated every couple of years. They would probably have stacking ones used for events.
3) There is a cheapy chair store on the West Island near there. My guess is that they are made in China and won’t last more than a few years but here it is: Lyneation Meuble, 1850 Hymus, 514-685-4888. Check to see if they have stacking ones
4) Restaurant supply companies sell chairs: Here’s Tzanet on my web site: http://www.smartshoppingmontreal.com/store.php?s=60
5) Furniture catalogue stores can order from any company, here’s 2 to call and ask the question (you can tell them I sent you): Furniture Wholesalers 274-8255 or Flash Decor 450-625-3945
6) Ikea probably has stacking chairs. Jysk is another company like them, but with lower prices , Here’s one location in Brossard: 450-443-6555
7) Look in the Canadian Tire or Sears catalogues
