To celebrate National Cinema Day, some theatres across Canada will be offering $4 movie tickets (plus tax). This will happen this Sunday, August 27th only.

This is a North American party so over 3,000 movie theatres will be joining in.

These are the Canadian movie theatres which will be offering this great deal: Cineplex, Cinemas Guzzo, Cinemas Cine Entreprise, Imagine Cinemas, Landmark and Magic Lantern Theatres as well as some small, independent movie theatres.

If you aren’t able to make it this Sunday, please check the Cineplex web site as monthly they have a slate of movies you can watch for just $2.99.

Boutique Java Kap, which has been selling capsules for all single serve coffee and espresso machines is about to close its retail location. In October 2023 they would have celebrated their 10th anniversary. I always considered them coffee heaven. They will close in mid to late September but keep reading to find out to how you can still find them online.

The hundreds of choices. The walls are lined with bins of capsules, and you can wander through and select a variety of flavors using their cute shopping trays , or you can buy them pre-boxed – all of the same kind.

The shop has sold all the Keurig brands you know and love, such as Green Mountain, Van Houtte, Timothy’s World Coffee, as well as the high end Keurig brands: Starbucks and Barista Prima. In addition to that they had carried all the popular Keurig compatible brands, namely Grove Square, Jetsetter, Barnie’s Coffee and Martinson. For those of you seeking premium coffee brands, you might have found: Marley, Jamaican Blue Mountain, Second Cup. They always had a large selection of Tassimo products as well as the hard to find new flavors.

They do have Nespresso compatible capsules, Cap’Mundo, Smart Coffee, and Espresso Italia. For your Nespresso they also sold Capsul’in which allows you to use your favorite espresso in your Nespresso machine.

For tea lovers, there’s a wide selection of tea capsules such as Twinings, Lipton, Tazo, Bigelow and Keurig and  Higgins & Burke. You can still buy tea bags, loose leaf teas, infusers for your tea or a travel mug which has a built in infuser for those on the run.

Here, you always received expect friendly helpful service with knowledgeable advice about all those flavors. The retail store will remain open through mid to late September as the stock sells out.

One of my secret spots for scoring deals is closing for good. Electrotech was a supplier of Philips, Cuisinart, Saeco and Bugatti products. Everything is being cleared out at phenomenal prices by September 29th.

You have to work a bit to find Electrotech which is in a small strip of stores on Henri-Bourassa where it meets highway 13. It is a clearance center for Philips, Cuisinart and Saeco, either brand new products or sometimes boxes which might have had  damaged packaging or were liquidated models.

There’s a huge line up of Saeco  coffee machines, Cuisinart and Philips small kitchen appliances (food processors, pasta machines, toaster ovens, blenders, and yes air fryers)  and shavers.

There’s also the line of sleek high end Bugatti kitchenware, cutlery, gift sets and tableware from Italy.

Go there fast because this is a one-time event and it will all be over by September 29.
