Q&A: Sheepskin Rug
Q: A longtime fan, I have your edition #14 in front of me. I was looking for a source for a white sheep skin area rug (the pelt) – but with no success. I’ve just destroyed the one from my bedroom –it’s been washed at least 20 times, and needs to be replaced. Do you have any idea where I might try to look for a replacement? I would so appreciate your direction on this.
A: If you want the pelts, on page 171, Tandy Leather Factory, 8425 boul Langelier has real pelts. You could then get someone (a shoemaker?) to sew them together. If you want a rug, you can buy a piece of sheepskin carpet and have a rug finished off in any size from Normandy Carpets, page 74 in the Smart Shopping Montreal book.
