Orienteering – Outdoor Family Fun
Orienteering is an international sport enjoyed by people in 70 countries. Basically, it’s a physical and mental challenge involving following a course in a park to find marked sites while running or walking briskly and while reading a topographical map.
If you’re bored with jogging, or have a spreading middle from sitting inside playing games, this is a great inexpensive individual or family sport. There’s a club in the Montreal area that organizes about 9 events in the Spring, Fall and Winter.
Membership for all the season’s events is only: Adult $30, Junior (<21) $20, or for the whole family $55. You can also pay a smaller amount for attending individual meets. For more information, e-mail or call John Charlow below.
Dates: May 25 – Bois de Liesse Regional Park
June 8 – Mount Royal Park
June 15 – Centennial Park, DDO
