Bah Humbug, Ah Humbugs
Humbugs are an addictive hard candy that seem to change flavors as you suck on them – from caramel to mint and more. The ones we are familiar with in Montreal were started during the Depression by Stilwell’s Homemade candy shop in Verdun. Though the shop closed, someone still knows the secret recipe and sells them around town. You just have to be a detective to find them.
Here are a few places from my book, Smart Shopping Montreal, that sell humbugs now during the holiday season – and maybe later on too.
