Pascal’s Closed
No, I’m not decades behind the times here. Though most of us bemoaned Montreal’s favorite hardware store when it shuttered all its doors, one small piece of it survived: Pascal’s Hotel Supplies. This business has been entrenched forever on three floors on the corner of Bleury and St. Alexandre. However, it too is now kaput. This kitchenware is not only for restaurants and hotels.
These businesses are a fun place to browse through as there are a myriad of items you’d never find in a regular kitchen store. There is stock of everything you would need to mix, pour, bake, cut, scoop, fry and serve such as plates, glasses, utensils, chef’s tools, casseroles and chairs. Bankruptcy prices can be found on heavy duty wares such as pots and pans, mixers. Brands you would recognize are there too: Royal Doulton, Victorinox, Danesco, Hobart, Libby and Le Cuistot. As space is limited, additional merchandise will keep coming. There are about 200 photos on the web site to give you an idea of what you might find.
