Fashionwear has always been a fashion service which holds events in the Ruby Foo’s Hotel 4 times during the Fall and again in the Spring. Stock of about 2 dozen lines of female trendy clothes, accessories and shoes are shown each time.
As you try on outfits, you are aided by one of the consultants, who helps you coordinate a wardrobe. Remembering what you bought last time (they keep a computer list), they try to update your look based on what you already have at home. Well if you were one of the lucky ones that scored a Canada Goose jacket or Ugg boots, now that it’s Spring and you are putting them away, you might be wondering how to clean them. One idea is to bring them to a furrier. Since they specialize in cleaning fur – feathers and suede aren’t that much of a stretch.
Harris Fur, a company that has been in the heart of the Fur District for half a century, can clean them for you – and furs too if you have them.
Harris is sharing space with Wolanski and Maurice Kaplan Furs, and they all have been making and remodeling fur coats (even carving and grooving sheared mink and beaver). They have extended their usual repertoire to include fur-lined raincoats or leather coats (use your old fur for a removable lining), cashmere capes, trimmed ponchos, shearling, fur scarves, sheepskin and Swakara lamb jackets.
You can trade in your old coat and/or bring a picture for them to make a new one. Repairs and storage are also available.
