Q 1: What would the holidays be like without buying toys for the kids? So with only one short month to go, can you help us avoid breaking the bank?
For years there was a dearth of places to get any deals on toys, and believe me, I looked. But suddenly this year we have not one, but three, places that have opened, warehouse style, to the public for incredible bargains on toys.
Q2: Will I be able to find this year’s hottest “must-haves”
Not really. You will find all of the basics for a child (cars, dolls, books, bath toys, crafts, plush, puzzles) at prices that should fit into your budget. Some of these toys are even being sold elsewhere in town at full price. The reason is that they are being cleared by their manufacturers, and this is where they are selling off items of this sort.
Think of it as a “garage sale” from these businesses, because they need to clean out all the stuff they don’t want any more, but the difference here is that all the toys are brand new and in proper condition.
Q3: Okay, give us the goods, where and when are they?
1 – Homegrown company, MEGA Brands is having a seasonal warehouse sale in the warehouse at the headquarters (4505 Hickmore, VSL). Besides their well-known snap together Mega Bloks, they also sell arts and crafts under the RoseArt brand, and MagNext building sets, King Arthur construction sets, Mickey Mouse clubhouse construction sets, wagons, trucks, Triazzle puzzles, High School Musical and Hannah Montana crafts and Board Dudes. There will be some doorbuster liquidated items, and some liquidated stock.

2 – Danawares is offering a one week sale of puzzles, games, seasonal ornaments and stockings, plush, toys, crafts, shovels, placemats, baby items, room accessories with famous names branded on them: Princesses, Cars, Toy Story, Fairies, Winnie the Pooh, Nick’s, Dora, Ni Hao, Kai Lan, Thomas, Fifi, Max & Ruby, Backyardigans, Toopy & Binou. This is a small space but the prices are excellent.

Q4: If I miss these sales, is there anywhere else, that does this on a more permanent basis?
Every year, before Christmas, between October and December, JRC toy warehouse opens to the public with deals of up to 70% off. They do a quick sale again in May. Name brands from Barbie, Crayola, Fisher-Price, Hasbro, Hot Wheels, Little Tikes, Mattel, Mega Bloks, Melissa & Doug, Mga, Spinmaster, Alex, and VTech have been found, books from $1 & up, even the kitchen sink and more. Corporations, day cares or anyone holding Christmas events can buy in bulk and have them wrapped; They help you choose for ages and if you spend over $1000, there’s delivery too.
